A psychic is someone who can connect with the spirit world to receive answers, guidance and warnings. This can range from a quick flash of intuition that leads you to a great sale at the store, or your gut instinct tells you not to take a certain route home because there’s been an accident on that road. It’s the kind of thing most of us have had at least a few times, but many of us simply dismiss it as a coincidence or a fluke.
However, those who have truly honed their psychic powers can develop a much stronger and more detailed connection to their intuition than the average person. These are the people who have been able to write books like Nostredamus’s Les Propheties, which contains several thousand quatrains that predict events like plagues, wars and murders. The Goddess Psyche of Greek mythology is another example of a pure psychic, whose messages she delivered in a possessed state have been preserved over the centuries.
Developing our psychic abilities can be done by practicing the various senses of perception, from visualizing (directions from your subconscious) to using tools like tea leaves or tarot cards. It can also be done by experimenting with sound and scent, as well as learning how to recognise emotions in others, even without seeing them physically. Our brains are wired to pick up on patterns, and this is why we can see human faces in clouds or smell a perfume that reminds us of someone.
