What Does a Psychic Do?

The word psychic means “sacred knowledge.” Psychics are able to access information in ways that most of us can’t. This is because they use a unique set of sensory tools that includes seeing, hearing, feeling and smelling. Their conscious mind acts as the input terminal while their subconscious works as the ultimate information storage and retrieval system.

Often, this information comes in the form of patterns. Psychics are able to notice and decipher these patterns which help them connect with the information they receive from their spiritual guides, angels and other spirit entities.

One of the most common psychic skills is known as clairvoyance. This allows a psychic to see images, hear sounds or feel sensations that they are receiving from the spirit realm. It’s a bit like how touch typing works; at first it may feel like hunt and peck, but once you’re used to the process your fingers just know what to do without being told on a conscious level.

Another psychic ability is clairaudience which is the gift of hearing a message from the spirit realm. This can come in the form of hearing someone talking to you (although there is no one physically present) or it could be as simple as a sudden gut feeling that seems to be right about something.

Often, psychics will use multiple of these skills to connect with their clients and their spiritual guidance. They might also utilise other tools like Tarot cards, runes, the I Ching, astrology and palmistry to organise their intuitive information before delivering a reading.
